Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT

Jesse’s Place is a 501 (c) (3) equine and canine assisted learning center dedicated to strengthening confidence and a sense of self-worth in youth and adults who have experienced trauma.  Trauma may arise from accident, illness, abuse, divorce, addiction, parental or other death, soldiers having experienced ptsd, neglect, foster care experiences, or growing up with dysfunctional family systems. Through experiential learning with rescue horses and emotional support dogs, Jesse’s Place provides a safe, respectful environment where individuals are encouraged to reconnect with their strengths and rediscover their inherent value.

IMPACT STATEMENT

All are welcome to experience what our magnificent rescue horses and certified emotional support dogs can offer. Research and lived experience consistently show that long-term outcomes for individuals impacted by trauma are often challenging and, without support, can be marginal at best.  Jesse’s Place serves a vital role in preventing negative outcomes by fostering a sense of capability, emotional awareness, and self-worth.

The animals selected for our programs are exceptionally intuitive and have received specialized emotional-support training. Each has endured its own history of hardship and appears to recognize the importance of patience, gentleness and trust. Their presence creates an environment where participants feel seen, heard,  respected, and supported as they engage in learning and personal growth.

PROGRAM GOALS

  • The goals of Jesse’s Place programs are to:
  • Build confidence in youth and adults who have suffered trauma
  • Support the development of emotional regulation skills
  • Strengthen caregiver relationships and other meaningful connections
  • Help individuals achieve greater stability and resilience, regardless of life circumstances
